BMR & Hormonal Balance

Basal Metabolic Rate & Hormonal Balance

With any type of weight management there has been a constant undercurrent of confusion as to why two people can embark on the same program and return two different set of outcomes.

We starting exploring peoples Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) as the possible reason as to why the different outcomes may occur. In addition we also starting looking at the hormonal profiles of individuals as we felt this would give us an indication if there where any factors in the blood that would prevent people from managing their weight. We were also trying to find a possible explanation for the feeling of lassitude that was often expressed by our clients during our consultations. Both the breath test (BMR) and the blood test (Hormones) have given us a unique insight and tells us about how the body is functioning. This type of information has not been available to us before we commenced these tests. Without this clinical data we continued to guess as to what may be the best approach for each person. With the breath and blood test we now know exactly what is the best clinical management of each person - all based on the evidence collected.

So if you have trouble managing your weight, feel tired, feel lethargic or you have been exercising consistently and still no change to weight - then you need to speak with us as we can help.

We can now access information that has not always been readily available.

  • We can now assess your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR).
  • We can work out how many calories you actual need.
  • We can calculate the actual percentage of fats and carbohydrates your body actually burns.
  • We can tell if there are any barriers to you managing your health.
  • We can determine if you are insulin resistant.
  • We can check your cortisol levels (stress hormone)
  • We can see if your blood sugar levels are normal.

There is a report and action plan delivered from the data.

  1. Basal Metabolic Rate
  2. Hormonal Profile
  3. Consultation
  4. Report and action plan
